Meet the family at Big October Homestead!

Hey y’all! We are Jenn & Todd Baker and we are so happy you are here! When we became parents just over a decade ago, we began to move toward a simpler, more natural, & self-sustainable lifestyle. Those steps toward living well & faith in God’s plans for our family have led to a calling of providing our family & yours with responsibly produced meat & eggs.

We live & work on our one acre homestead and also farm at Jenn’s family’s century farm where we currently raise broilers, pigs, and turkeys on pasture and nonGMO feed and maintain a laying flock for eggs in northern Franklin County, NC. Our broilers are humanely processed & packaged by us right here on the homestead using NCDA standards. We also have ducks on the homestead for some added fun! We believe that you don’t have to have a lot of land to homestead when you care for it well using regenerative agricultural practices. We also believe you can homestead almost anywhere, whether you live on lots of land in a rural area or in a city apartment! Homesteading is a lifestyle with skills that anybody can learn and that the whole family can get involved with.
